If you’re planning a wedding anywhere near Breckenridge, run, don’t walk to Ebs! She was everything you’d dream of having in your wedding planner. Organized, thorough, and a calming force through every step of the way. Her relationships may be her greatest superpower though - she seems to know everyone in town, made great recos of other vendors, and some of our vendors even told us they only agree to work with Distinctive Mountain Events given their solid reputation. As a couple planning their wedding from out of state, we chose to hire DME for their full wedding planning service and it was one of the best planning decisions we made, worth every penny! Ebs truly made planning the least of our worries. She was great at managing timelines and reminding us of critical deadlines. Not only that, but she had great advice throughout the process, especially when we got stuck on certain decisions. Day of, she was like an extension of our family who kept the day running smoothly and managing any wrinkles like a pro. If anything went wrong, we never would have known as she was a problem solving queen. Truly so thankful for everything the DME team did to have our day go off without a hitch!

A year and a half later. Better late than never, right? Julie and Matt were married in June of 2024 at Ten Mile Station in Breckenridge, Colorado. A couple months ago I had the chance to meet up with them and guess what. They have a daughter!! (Ok, ok, I'm a bit late on publishing their wedding but that just means I'm busy planning weddings, right?) It’s moments like these that make me love seeing where life takes my couples after the big day. I’m always honored to help celebrate the wedding itself, but getting to reconnect and see the next chapter of their story? That’s the sweetest reminder of why I do what I do.

Julie and Matt’s wedding at Ten Mile Station was full of New Orleans flair and celebration, from an unforgettable second line parade to the cake pull. If you are anything like me, I had to ask what exactly a cake pull is. It's a fun tradition where charms are tucked into ribbons around the cake, and each lucky bridesmaid and friend pulls one to reveal a special fortune. True to their wishes, they didn’t see each other before the ceremony, their first look was walking down the aisle. They did, however, share their vows privately beforehand, making their ceremony all the more meaningful.

The day was flawless thanks to an incredible team: hair and makeup by Divine, officiated by Phil Gallagher, music by Oncue Music, DJ Brett on the turntables, floral design by Lace and Lilies, cake by Intricate Icings, and captured beautifully by Jill Houser Photography.

From intimate moments to lively celebrations, Julie and Matt’s wedding was a perfect mix of heartfelt vows and joyful New Orleans-inspired fun. Ten Mile Station’s stunning backdrop in Breckenridge provided the perfect canvas for their mountain-meets-Creole day.

Seeing their love story continue with their daughter was the sweetest reminder of why I love what I do, helping couples celebrate these incredible moments.
