McLean and Kevin. I started working with McLean way back in March of 2020. She wanted a full service wedding planner and full time planning partner for her Timber Ridge in Keystone, Colorado. She was extremely busy and didn't have a ton of time for wedding planning. Typical of most of our wedding couples. So that's where we came in! After we were hired, I had a conversation with McLean's mother Laura and she let me know that music was her number one priority. We had to find an amazing MoTown band. No sweat! We had the perfect one! Wash Park Band is amazing and really keeps the party going. Check!
Next we had to make Timber Ridge just the coolest garden oasis you have ever seen. The great thing about Timber Ridge is that you do not necessarily need to do a lot to it to make it really special. With those huge beams, large fireplace and high ceilings, the venue really speaks for itself. But we wanted it to scream. ;) So we enlisted the help of Erin Ashley Designs to make this dream a reality. When she said vines crawling up from the ground, we were sold! She did such amazing things with flowers to that space, it really made it sing. And with the combo of all of our rentals from Colorado Tents and Events it made Timber Ridge the most beautiful we have ever seen it. The staff was even saying that and they see about 3 weddings every weekend in the summer!
After we had all these amazing vendors booked we had a recipe for the perfect wedding! But mother nature had other plans. Rain has been a constant theme throughout summer so far. I have to say, as a local Summit County resident, it is 1000% times better than worrying about fires. Buuuuut does not help when it comes to weddings. These wedding couples do not pay all this money for the perfect wedding venue and top notch wedding vendors, on the side of a mountain, to have their wedding indoors. As their wedding coordination team, we do EVERYTHING we can to make sure our couples are married outside. Even if we have to get creative like having the cocktail hour first and ceremony after, delay by a certain amount, cut down the ceremony because we see a window of opportunity or even move the wedding arch from here to there...back to here and finally end up there. We do what it takes. And when McLean and Kevin's wedding couldn't happen at the original ceremony spot on Anticipation Run, Chelsea, their Day of Coordinator moved that arch and all it's beautiful adornments up to the Timber Ridge deck. It was the perfect solution and the ceremony was gorgeous. And outside!!! Win!!
The rest of the evening went off without a hitch. There was eating, drinking, dancing, you know, all the fun stuff!! And who was there to capture it all? Non other than Michele at Once West! One of my personal faves!
