I had the opportunity to stop into Jennifer Engel's store to chat with her about her amazing jewelry and I had a blast! What could have been done in about 15 minutes lasted about 45 minutes. Complete with chatting and laughing and really feeling at home in her store. It was so fun to talk with her about what she does because she is so passionate about making jewelry. Everything else has just fallen into place. Although I think if you ask Adam, her husband, he might say it came with hard work :) He's the business side of the operation. Jennifer gets to do the fun stuff and it shows! Here is a little peek of our convo:
How long have you been making jewelry and how did it begin? I have been making jewelry for 15 years. It really started by accident. I saw a piece on a friend of mine that I liked and I decided to make something similar. Turns out I had a knack for making jewelry because people started literally buying pieces off my neck.
How long have you lived in Summit County? We moved here last February but my husband Adam was living in Breckenridge when I met him. It has been his dream to get back here.
What makes Jennifer Engel Designs Jewelry perfect for a bride? The Jewelry is affordable and makes a great bridesmaids gift. The bride can pick out her colors and customize it with me to create a really special, unique piece. This is a piece that the ladies closest to the bride can wear on the wedding day and then for many years to come.
You have a great space, do you have any events here? We are starting a 'Girl's Night Out'. This would be for you and your ladies to come into the store, create a custom piece of jewelry, drink champagne then head out for the night. It's perfect for Bachelorette parties!
